Toronto Public Library announced that it has shut all branches due to health concerns regarding COVID-19 (coronavirus).
This means that all programs, events, room rentals and other activities will be cancelled.
To support City and community efforts to curb the spread of the COVID-19 virus, TPL is closing all of its branches, effective March 13. Branches will remain closed until April 6. All programs, events and room rentals are also cancelled during the closure. https://t.co/NjMgrx3iTw

For those with holds, your branch will honour it for pick-up after locations reopen. Toronto Public Library will not fine those who don’t pick up their holds.
The Toronto Public Library will not charge anyone late fees for books and other media that are currently on loan since book drops are not available. Pre-existing fines will also not accumulate while libraries are closed.
The library service plans to open back on April 6 but will monitor the situation in case this temporary closure needs to be extended.
