Here’s what you need to know about Tim Hortons’ Roll Up the Rim this year
Mar 11 2020
Tim Hortons’ ‘Roll Up the Rim’ starts today but this year will be a bit different compared to previous iterations.
COVID-19 (coronavirus) has affected the contest to the point where the company had to restructure it to be more digital-oriented.
#RollUpTheRim is back, with $14 million worth of in-restaurant hot beverage instant giveaways and millions of prizes to be won on the Tim Hortons app! Details at: https://t.co/gKqGSa4r3E pic.twitter.com/TfG2iQrzBO

Now, you’ll need to bring your Tims Rewards card or have the app downloaded in order to play since the Roll Up the Rim cups have been fazed out.
The app is the easiest way to play, since you can easily find out whether you’ve won and have the offer loaded up on your phone.
However, if you’re using the Tims Rewards card, you’ll need to check using the Roll Up the Rim website.
The odds of winning a hot beverage or donut prize this year is now one in nine, making it a bit harder compared to last year’s one in six chance.
However, the bigger prizes such as the 2020 Hyundai IONIQ electric or hybrid, Samsung Smart TVs, Air Miles Rewards Points, CIBC prepaid credit cards and Tim Hortons gift cards can be won digitally.
For those that have personal cups, Tim Hortons will still honour the contest policy of three digital rolls despite temporarily banning use of these containers in-stores.
All you have to do is show your reusable mug when you order a hot beverage and the server will apply the rolls to your Tim Rewards app or card.
Roll Up the Rim lasts until April 7, 2020 so you’ll have almost a month to test your luck.
